Defense Secretary William Cohen said that the United
States, the world's most technologically advanced nation,
will be at its most vulnerable and exposed when the crisis
hits because of its reliance on technology.

If you were President of the USA and you are sure that
your army will lose strength after 1 jan 2000 what would
you do? Would you hope for the best or use your power
while you can? Or better, ask yourself what the White
House would do in that kind of situation.

One option could be reducing enemy-strength before 2000.

Is it a coincidence that both the attack on Iraq and Yugo-
slavia were concentrated on reducing the capability to
make war.
Or is there anyone on this thread who believe that NATO
is doing this for the people in Kosovo. If it were Americans
in Kosovo do you really believe that NATO would use
airstrikes to help them?
And Rwanda? And etc..

Anyhow, the US-army has a Y2k-problem soon. And according
to your own Minister of Defence bigger than any other
country.

So let's wake up and also start making a link to Y2k.

What about the Russians stopping the Y2k-project on the
nuclear weapons. What about if American-Russian relation-
ship will be broken for a longer period of time.
Will America hope for the best. Or will they act before?

Just a few thoughts. Probably nonsense but on the other
hand.

Paul

Christopher, " Do I read you correctly?..."

Yes, you read me correctly.

You seemed surprised, which indicates to me you don't understand the ripe, mature, fermenting ethnic/national hatred that exists.

There is a very good reason the World Wars started in that part of the world... and that hatred is the root of nearly all of it.

Jon :)
