PeteKoby, you're correct Kosovo was declared an autonomous province within Serbia in the new Yugoslavian constitution of 1974. After, Tito died, the Kosovos pushed to be an independent Republic but in 1989 Miloshevich stripped away their autonomous status and in 1990 he sent Serbian troops into Kosovo to officially dissolve the Kosovo government. Since then he has started wars with every formal Yugoslavian territory and his secret police and military and murdered (in cold-blood) thousands of innocent people, much like the killing fields of Cambodia.
