Hi Charles, I would definitely agree that it would be a good idea to grout all holes and I hope that was done in previous seasons. However, I would not loose any sleep worrying if they did not do so earlier.

Permafrost to about 500 meters. The 2 1/2 inch holes would be filled with ice. Don't ask me why the lake does not freeze solid in the winter because I don't know. (the phase change from water to ice may actually release more heat than a 1 degree change in temp)I suspect a lot of the shallow lakes up there do freeze solid.

Casing is run down from the drill through the ice down to the lake bottom through the sediments and into the rock initially, then the drill rod runs through this to drill the hole into the rock.
In exploration cementing is only done when you think you have hit something good because it is expensive and time consuming. So the early holes probably weren't cemented but they didn't go down through the dyke either.
Also in exploration often the first set of holes arent cemented because you are testing the near surface and if you find something good you are going to have to leave cao rock there anyway so if things look real good and you start drilling into what may be mineable ore then you start cementing.
There have been lots of cases though that when a mine developes someone has had to go back and cement holes. Not a recommended proceedure to be sure. It may cost more to cement holes at the time but go back and try to re collar and cement gets real expensive.
regards Walt

Grouting is normal procedure for RT and Winspear. These Winspear folks are pros and many of you are just waking up to this fact. These folks have experience in exploration and mining,..actual operating mines folks!!! The scoping study by MRDI was done by pros too. They took the rock conditions into consideration when they proposed the costs.

I've touched and felt the kimberlite, and it doesn't break up in your hands. You guys are being mislead again. Stock is likely going down again on Monday based on bulls**t and misinformation. Guess I will be selling and then buying at the low again, cause she is going up eventually. Why don't you turkeys talk to RT. The guy's a millionaire now. Why does he need to bulls**t to make a couple million more. You want the facts,...forget this SI expert s**t,.... talk to Winspear. If they lie, it is a 10 year jail term,...plus fine and liability. They ain't stupid.

russett,... tell me your a miner, give me your background, so I can check you out,... or you are full of s**t. How's the game, bogey or par golf??
