Should be interesting to see if ARCO is gulped up by BP-Amoco.

I wonder when Texaco will be gobbled up. Hope they offer the TX employees a good package at that time :-)

I wonder how long before the consultants start telling everyone about the benefits of spinning off companies again. Just part of the cycle. I see it every day. People who have no clue about a business or industry making recommendations that are short term and sophomoric.

I recently read an article that looked at mergers in depth over the last 15 years I believe. It said that in 90%+ of the cases the shareholders would have been better off without the merger.

You have to have some mantra to get paid $200 an hour. I have always wondered why we have CEOs. HA!
