KY --

I hold both and don't worry about either. SDLI owns the "lion's share" of the 980 nm pump market right now and I believe they have a healthy lead on submarine qualifications. Another lead, of sorts, is the fact they're not as well known as UNPH. Price to sales, for example, is $19.40 for UNPH, almost double SDLI's $10.48.

The analysts at H&Q have been stumping for both recently and I know they don't favor one over the other. (Both are presenting at their April Tech conference.)

I think we can relax knowing the market's huge and they'll both get all the business they can handle. As we were told in the last conference call, SDLI has added a third shift to their San Jose manufacturing facility, in addition to doubling their capacity in Vancouver Island. And we know from Uniphase and JDS Fitel they're expanding facilities, as well.

I'm not losing any sleep. :))
