Ken, here's an anecdote copied from TMF Board. It's obvious Clik is in its infancy and will soon be exploding... Subject: Iomega Product Exposure Date: 3/27/99 4:12 PM Author: gorsline Number: of 19672 Having recently bought Iomega stock, I have been following these boards with interest over the last couple months. In that time, I have come to understand investor frustration with the lack of news/product advertising coming out of this company. So starved am I for positive indications of Iomega product success that I nearly crashed my car yesterday when I tuned into AM 1000 radio out of San Diego. This news/financial issues station was airing an interview with John Stewart of ACPress.com. The subject was removable storage options. He did a quick overview of the products discussed on this board with particularly positive emphasis on Iomega Zip drives (100 and 250MB). The show must have referred to Iomega as the "industry standard" at least a half dozen times. At this point I was still in control of my vehicle - just grinning. My driving seriously began to suffer when Mr. Stewart launched into a five minute description of his new love... the Iomega Clik! It was beautiful. He hit every point any of us with a stake in Iomega could have asked for: size and portability (compared it over and over to an electric razor), price (broke down price per MB compared to flash memory), the future explosion of the digital camera market and the "huge need" this product fills, etc. It brought tears to my eyes (so much for "unemotional investing"). Mr. Stewart stated that he is aiming to publish a piece on Clik! by next weekend. All of this on a radio station which caters to investors. Six hours later I'm back in my car and listening to the same station. The show is now called "Live Online". The show is aimed at making its listeners aware of developments/products/trends on the internet. Imagine my surprise when the host introduces "John Stewart of Iomega". The next ten minutes of air time are spent in a positive discussion of price drops on the 100MB Zip Drive and the "new" USB Zip Drive. Buzz was also discussed. Once again, "Iomega is the standard...Iomega is the standard...Iomega is the standard..." It appears that, at least in my small corner of the removable data storage world, the word is getting out. Either that, or I drove through some Iomega dominated alternate reality twice in one day.
