BB: I expect some nice volatility in AMAT this week. If the volatility is to the downside on a good volume day come end of March, I will consider going long. If this does not occur and we get volatility to the upside on April 1st and 2nd on high volume, I will consider going short. I am playing the big boy's asset allocation moves this week with the expectation that the established trend will reverse itself in the subsequent days. Kosovo messes things up a bit. I am predicating my thinking on the trading history of AMAT in 1997 and 1998 during this same time frame.

Good luck in your discussions with PIGMAN. I predict you will get the standard 50 day moving average response couched in a "know-it-all" attitude.

I am more sure of the latter analysis re PIGMAN than I am of the former re AMAT but, unfortunately, there is no way to trade PIGMAN <g>.

Big Bucks,A price below $52-55 could be a good buying opportunity.

Your assessment is right on the market, especially, since after a 2x1 Spit the stock would be equivalent $26-27.5. If we consider that the past DW AMAT absolute lows was $22 or $44 preslit then you assessment is right on.

After, AMAT hits $101.50, splits 2x1, I will be buying at the $22-$27.5 range again. Just thinking ahead.

Big Bucks, can we do the same thing again like we did in 1996/97 and 1998/99? Hopefully.<g>

Just my $.02.

Paul
