The lines are being drawn again - A little history to shed some light......

World war I started in the Balkans all because an Archduke was
assassinated. So how did it lead to a world war? It happened
like this, now I dont have a history book in front of me but
I am a history major so I will give you the detail as best as
I can remember.

AFter the assassination of an Austrian duke in some small
baltic state, Austria and this small baltic state were
at odds. ( Austria thought it was a conspiracy and wanted answers.
This small baltic state (I cant remember which one) didn't have any
conspiracy planned and so they had no answer to give, Austria didn't believe them). Austria was going to invade this small country.
However Russia came to the rescue and backed this small country.
So then Germany came to the aid of Austria and backed them. Then
Britian came to the aid or Russia and that small baltic state....
Anyway to make a long story short we ended up with two sides and
roughly four to five countries on each sides. So now Austria and
this small baltic state go to war. And guess what happens?
All these enteracting treaties or alliances come into play And
now Russia goes to war to back the baltic state and germany goes
to war to back Austria and so on.... and we end up with a world
war all because one guy got assassinated.

TODAY... We have Nato on one side and now Russia says it may back
Serbia.

The lines are being drawn again and we are here why? To solve
some racial issues that have been ongoing for hundreds of years.
We are risking war. And as cold as this may sound I dont want
to fight for them. Yes , people are being murdered and killed
based on race ,but if you look back on history thats what has been
going on since the beginning. MIGHT MAKES RIGHT in this world
as evil or cruel as that may seem its how things work. And American
soldiers are going to die. A few bombs aren't going to solve anything
in the long run. Soon as we leave things will go back to the way they
were we saw it Bosnia and that one African country Sommalia (spelling?)
LET ME ASK YOU A QUESTION IF YOU STILL THINK WE SOULD BE
OVER THERE. WOULD you DIE FOR THEM? If you wouldn't die for them,
then dont risk someone's Dad or brother. I would fight and die for my God,my country, my family, and my friends in that order. I do not
see Serbia as a danger to US interest yet. And therefore do not
think we should be over there. WE are creating a situation that
could explode and kill alot more people and the policies we are
using are flawed. Time will tell however history warned!
Thanks David
