Cacaito, forget the accruals! Ellen said focus on just the mortality. Murphy was focused on his 125, which was really 130. I was just as wrong!! I was focused on the 200. These numbers don't drive the process. The deaths alone will determine the accruals, not the accruals determining the deaths. Apparently one can determine statistical significance just using deaths in the treatment and placebo groups. But, I don't know how.

BTW miningco was a new issue on Tuesday?? I tried it out for meningococemia and did not find it very helpful. Perhaps I need to learn how to use it better. The concept is interesting, in that in theory a real specialist gets involved at some point in making the search more effective.
