It's very much the same as the tobacco litigation. They have political aspirations beyond AG and being seen as the caped crusader for the little guy, with the accompanying photo opps and salubrious press coverage, can only enhance those ambitions. Remember people asking Mike Moore (the Mississippi (?) AG who was the point man in the tobacco litigation) if he was going to run for president? Sheesh.

It's time to look past the trial and start focusing on where the business is headed next.

I think we may begin to see the tide (at least the PR tide) turn in this case this week.

Here we have MSFT on one side that has openly said they would very much like to settle this case. Now we have the AGs on the other side that are proposing to dismantle MSFT as we now know it.

Wouldn't it be ironic if the press begins siding w/ MSFT because the AGs refuse to try and negotiate fairly, despite all the blunders MSFT made during their defense.

Remember folks, it's never too late to buy MSFT!!
