From The Bull Market Report.
The general consensus on the Street is that real earnings problems may lie
in the hi-tech area and that PC pricing is of major concern. We're kind of
excited about the idea of getting Dell at $36, down from its high of $55
because we know that it will go back to its highs again some time this year.
Where can you get a 50% return in the stock market from one of the greatest
corporate success stories of all time, a firm that is selling $14 million a
day of equipment online? No guarantees of course - Dell could go to $26 if
the market is headed to 8000, but what a buy it would be at $26! The
question of timing is always critical. People ask if NOW is the time to buy
XYZ. So, is NOW the time to buy Dell? We don't know of course, but we know
that many times, not buying it has caused us to miss some tremendous gains.
Are we going to catch the exact bottom? No. But if we do buy here and it
does go to $26, we're not going to feel as bad as buying a dog stock that
has no chance of coming back from the doldrums. With Dell or Cisco, we
wouldn't lose one wink if they fell back 40% from here. We'd be looking to
mortgage the house to raise some cash to load up! (Dear SEC: This is a
joke.:)

You bet Dell will go up tomorrow as Cowen technology conference will start tomorrow. Looking forward to Dell's bullish comments.
