As soon as they dropped the first bombs Clinton sealed his fate. I believe he and NATO will have no choice but to commit ground troops to the region. The only out I can see is the United Nations calling a meeting and voting to commit UN troops to cordon off Kosovo, stop the NATO bombings and bring in Russia to negotiate a peaceful resolution. jmho MarkC

If we are smart we will keep our American Ground forces out of this area.

If we were smart we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. We would have left it all up to the U.N. and given our share of troops to a U.N. peacekeeping force if asked.

But we ain't smart. So we're in a mess and don't know how to get out of it.

Lee,

Don't you see whats going on there? NATO isn't sending ground forces, because there are KLA ground forces there already. They had 20,000 troops before the begining of the bombings. Who where engaged in the guerilla war against serbian army and police. (IMO that is what caused all this intensification of the serbian attacks).
Now all this men 16-60, who left behind the refugees, are taking up the weapons and joining KLA. That is providing ground troops support for NATO air-force.

CNN gives only one side of the story. They are not being objective.
And Milosevich is making a big mistake by not letting journalists in the region, which gives NATO propaganga machine a full advantage.

I wish serbs realized all the stupidity of this and overthrown Miloshevich. He is bad for his nation. And he is the reason, why serb civilians are dying under NATO bombs right now. The longer this war will last, the more emotions will be involved.

And, yes, I do beleive that the flow of refugees is caused by civilians fleeing the region of military action, including NATO airstrikes. If NATO planes are bombing Pritina, I would be surprized if civilians will hang around there and wait.
