thanks the link..it is basically as i thought...as i've posted in the past md did not invent jit/bto...for that was a system introduced by the japanese decades ago...a bit of efficiency that was abstracted from the post war teachings of demming..

dell used a manufacturing process a bit foreign to the pc industry, and the continuous flow as they call it will reduce man hours per assembly, further cutting costs and turn around times,,,md not the first...but his execution flawless...it's the execution not the concept that is hard to duplicate..requires a dedicated work force who takes pride in accomplishments...as the japanese were and as we were in the fifties...before labor unions and malcontent workers harmed productivity...my how things come full circle...welcome home..ed a.
