You are absolutely rigth. They need a new image in the world. I do beleive, that they will make every effort to make peace in Serbia.
This way they still keep and independent position, and emerge as a piece maker in the face of the world community. There is a lot of opposition to NATO airstrikes, and if they succeed, they will regain their face.
