True. I think I just like the sound of it better. There is a vitality in the tones of the cruder forms of speech that is often sorely lacking in professional jargon.

I do suspect that those who evade for a living are likely to become addicted to the process, and to remain so even in their private lives.

In the United States the rural poor had a strict ethic of being good to one's word. Thus they often chose their words with care - in order not to make casual or frivolous commitments. One's word was a precious commodity - one not so central to urban sophisticates.
