Even1 and all, "Sub-$1,000 PCs stifle DVD growth " argues this story,
but Dell says:

>"[Second], we've found that consumers have a budget when
they're buying a PC, and if the ones they're looking at cost
less than the budget, they'll upgrade the peripherals. The
budget stays stable."
<

and Jim Porter says:

"It's up to the system manufacturers, and most of them would kill their own mother to save $20," said Jim Porter, editor of DiskTrend. "As long as the PC maker believes that only a small percentage of his market is going to want a DVD-ROM drive at this time, he's not
going to include it except at the high end [of the product line]."
<

Seems to me customers would probably add a ZIP to a sub-$1,000 PC
if they could get it for $50.

>>Oh yeah, in the 4 years I've been using Zips, I've long formatted once and didn't really need to that time.<<

Even1 -

Long formatting is rarely necessary. I use short format almost exclusively.

IOM Falling Again $4 5/8

Evidently, the Market agrees with me concerning IOM. While the overall Market races towards 10,000 today, IOM sinks farther and farther towards its rightful valuation...$1.42

Why waste time with hard-earned money sunk in this garbage? If I were currently invested in IOM I would SELL immediately and move my $$$ elsewhere in the Market to where it has a chance of going Up in this race towards the close above 10,000.

IOM's trend is clearly down down down while the Market races Upwards. This is very very bad.
