I am not thrilled by any military action. In fact it is a most heart wrenching gut checkingly painful prospect. I am a peace enjoying person and do not want to quarrel with anyone. I also was immediately suspicious of our US govt's management of affairs leading up to this latest round of military escalation and highly critical of the threat of force. I do not believe in Executive Branch cavalier use of military might as has been the track record of this draft dogging pot smoking scaliwag of a commander-in-chief. I believe Congress should hold the sole power to deliberate on and if necessary declare war.

But when and if we ever rise(sink) to that occasion, then we should go in with a huge stick and no hands tied behind the back, wailing mothers, Russians and peaceniks notwithstanding.

In this case, like it or not we are at war. We should be willing to wage this and any war in the most horribly brutal way. Or never have considered starting it. War is not just politics by another means, it is hell, and can lead to unintended consequences. Let the generals call the shots. Keep the politicos in the back rooms where the bj's are handed out.
