It can be done however because of the antiquated Socket7 bus architecture, the result would be somewhat disappointing.

1. Low demand.

1A. Multiple CPUs are not supported by Windows 95/98.

1B. K62 performs "poorly" on Windows NT compared to Pentium II where support and applications for multiple CPUs reside.

2. Non-Standard Interrupt capability - non ACPI compliant.

3. Kmart 62's do not support SMP - no bus snooping, etc. That puts all the burden on VIA.
