We are not on opposite poles on civil rights, we merely disagree on a few key items. However, it may be that if you are focused on those things, cooperation is impossible. On the other hand, I would not hold my breath for achieving the Libertarian agenda...

You know, I kind've take a different slant. I believe if you let the business take care of itself, the Civil Rights will follow. Think about it: When has a tyrant ever taken over a wealthy country? There may be one or two examples (Peron comes to mind), but in general Civil Rights are under a greater threat when the wealth of the country is at risk.
Right now is a pivotal time in US history, because we are at a point where we can make great strides in Civil Rights, but are stagnating. That is why I am trusting the Internet to make the gov't irrelevant enough to negate any of the strides it takes.
