I would think the AMZN news would dampen interest in diversifying product offerings, and I think it will hurt companies like ONSL more than EGGS since they already are somewhat diversified (not just 'puter stuff).

Anaxagoras,

Early preopening suggests that's the first market read as well. ONSL off 3/8 and eBay off 8 1/2. (EGGS unchanged at the moment). AMZN (gap up 11) is obviously the 800 pound gorilla. When he's through everyone else is dining on banana peels.

Hi Anax,

Actually, I should have also mentioned some other factors that tend to support a higher growth rate, which is that now in stead of having one Mega+ auction on the weekend, Egghead usually has between 5 and 9 different category auctions. This has been accomplished while still growing the Mega+ auction, so my wild extrapolation is probably on the conservative side (I hope).

The Amazon news is expected but unwelcome (unless Egghead is one of the un-named partners . . . the announcement seemed specific that Amazon was not going to independently develop all of the areas). Are you still in ONSL? I was thinking about buying some again . . . I found the early posting on that board about the small float and large short interest in that stock to be somewhat compelling.
