I beg to differ on the AH thinking on cash. Why the hell would one want to pay taxes by selling a stock just to proof that it's real money? Ridiculous. Tell that to Buffet too. There are two main reason to sell a stock; 1) The company has stop performing. 2) Your investment objective has been met, and there are other investments that will provide a better return. Also, once an investor has gain knowledge, say been in the game 5 to 10 years, margin is a great way to leverage. Keep it small, NEVER MAX IT OUT. I have been on margin for decades never had a call. I was taught this by a 70 year broker (Who by the way looked 50 and me all but 30 could hardly keep up with the man) former insurance man that was a multimillionaire by buying and holding and leveraging with margin. I do agree and adding as a stock goes up though.
