Very good article. Now, tell me why the smart CEOs at companies that are beaten down and yet have multiple quality product candidates are not merging their companies to make $5 billion companies from collected market caps that now total (for example) $800 million?

Everyone goes on with the (thanks for the spelling, David) jada, jada, jada, and nobody recognizes that there are GREAT companies out there.

I'm getting upset by some posts to SI, and I guess it's time to hit the road. There are investors here at SI that share a record of generally avoiding the potholes. This implies an ability to differentiate scams and bad science from the companies that will thrive. For those who don't appreciate the efforts of those who are trying to share that capacity..... keep throwing out the crap, and you'll lose it; you'll be left with hype.

That last line of the article was sort of a
stupid way to finish (extinction...just yet).
The fact is that second and third tier will start
getting bought out because the sector has already
been mostly weeded out. But it will be hard to play--
you will hear the announcement, and the next day
the stock gaps up at the price paid. I have heard
the term "leaky" used, maybe it was Rick--do you
suppose that means rumors are about. We have seen
a few rumors like "lots of visitors" from some
threads...but I wonder if it is so smart to trade
on them.

The Economist is a great mag, but they blow
it sometimes--the $5 a barrel oil issue a few
weeks back for example. Was a great signal to
jump into the oil stocks, wish I'd been gutsy.

What has it been, seven years since the last
time the bioechs really ran. I should think
more than enough time has gone by to shake
out the companies that wont make it--the Economist
has it wrong...most of what is left is worth
something to somebody. Oh there are a few that could
go either way (my shares in Ariad come to mind).

I just read through the new posts to the thread,
sounds like Rick is getting cranky again. Could
be a good buy signal....so just now I grabbed a
little more sibi for example (then the MM, Vector
moved it up an eighth, bastards, hehheh).

All you can do is slowly add to positions as news
and upgrades come out. The fact that the market
does not react is a gift, I get to buy more as I
can afford to.
