OFF TOPIC: Al, I absolutely agree with your last point, that the press does no evaluation. My point was slightly different, however. And it really paralleled yours. Implied, I thought, in your earlier point was that someone was lying to the press to manipulate the stock price. My point was more along the lines that someone could take a fact out of context, spread that fact in the press and get it airplay out of all proportion to its real importance.

I do not know the details of the Boeing case, but used your numbers. What they showed was some negative effect on Boeing from defense pullbacks. Not a big effect, but measureable.

An analogy: Someone is asked to describe an elephant. "Well, it has hair under its nose," comes the reply. That's a perfectly accurate statement (I think. I haven't looked.), but it's hardly the point is it?
