does this leave ckfr "blind" as to the number of subscribers? and able to charge only on a per payment basis, rather than an account basis??

Gregg: thanks for the lucid explanation of the float issue. Question: Is it so that CKFR is insisting on four-day lead time more now than before? I have noticed (banking via Quicken and Citibank) that some merchants I could pay in 2 days now require 4. It's a pain. I thought that with 60% of CKFR transactions going off electronically, without any paper checks to be mailed, that 2-day lead times would become more common, rather than less.

And of course, 4-day lead times are really 6-day when you hit the computer button on a Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. And 7-day when there's a 3-day holiday involved.
