RocketMan:

Skybridge will be ready for service, from what I can see, by the end of 2001-- which is just in time for AOL to start picking up momentum on subscribers again. What a lot of folks don't get, as far as I see it, is the broadband on cable debate as a possible achilles heel for AOL. Once you have Low Earth Orbiting satellite for AOL content (remember, Teledesic wants to be the Microsoft content deliverer), the cable issue-- at least in my mind-- becomes moot.

I do know that satellite providers have been in talks on providing AOL content, cannot promise anything at all as of yet. However, I am sure, given the necessity for LEOs in areas of Latin America AOL will be delivering its content that way. This is an educated guess on my part, not based on talks with anyone whatsoever. It just makes sense to me, so we'll see what develops.
