I don't know what happened. I checked the quote on SI and it said PLAT was trading at 14 1/2 and then, later, at 10. Now it's off and running to 24. Must have been a glitch.

Anyway, so far the market is not liking the deal for CA. It seems like an overly complex arrangement; CA creates a company with 3.5 billion in borrowed cash and then gives that cash to PLAT shareholders, and then mergers PLAT and the newco. Can someone with experience in finance explain to me why they did it this way? Are they hiding something? If the deal is accretive in the first 12 months, why are buyers running?

Doughboy.
