DD : AIDS/HIV is very, very bad in SAf, and in the neighbouring states where the miners come from (Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique).

In KwaZulu (Zululand) and in the part of SAf near Kruger Park the incidence is said to be 25%+ across the whole population. This means that, in the effected group (blacks, aged 16 to 35), the incidence could be approaching 40-50%. So it is likely that, in the next ten years, a whole generation could be wiped out. One can only presume it will impact on all forms of labor-intensive production, including gold mining.

Anyway, that's the way I see it. The government, as usual, does nothing about it. Too busy blaming the whites for all the problems. But, in reality, there's nothing it could do. The black men refuse point-blank to use condoms --- in fact, they believe the way to cure AIDS/HIV is to sleep with a young girl, preferably a virgin, and preferably to gang rape her.

Ah! The joys of living in Africa!
