The one thing I've seen the DMMs do is radically drop the price for about two minutes - to kill all the Stop Limits that people have set to protect their initial capital. This is an issue that needs to be addressed by legislation (..you don't know how hard it is for me to say that..); but, occasionally the SEC does something right. There ought to be a precise formula they have to follow - that prevents these giant 2-minute price excursions. That's where the slimy deals happen. The "Vancouver Shuffle" I call it - where there's collusion between some slime-oid insider and the DMM. John :-)
