All:

Confirmed institutional activity today in IATV. Can't tell you whether it's buying or selling, but if I had to bet it would be buying.

Source: Thomson I-Watch. thomsoninvest.net

They changed the front page a little - type in "IATV" next to the "Ticker" box and hit the button.

What you will see:

three 100K "Buy Interest Messages" at 9:50am, 10:10am, and 11:00am
two 20K "Sell Interest Messages" at 9:30am and 11:10am

Interest messages just mean that an insitution is interested in buying/selling that quantity of stock at that time IF the price is right.

The most interesting thing today however is the "Buy Super Message" for 25K shares @ 7 7/8 at 11am. This means that an institution actually wanted to purchase 25K shares at 7 7/8 at that time. 7 7/8 was the current price at the time (on a heavier traded stock you will see super buy messages way below current price and super sell messages above current price all the time).

Additionally, according to the chart on the bottom right corner of the page that breaks down volume into insitutional/retail/and unknown, approximately 1/3 of today's activity was institutional (1/3 retail, 1/3 unknown).

Given that there were more buy interest messages and the one buy super message, and only the two small sell interest messages, I would assume that the "institutional" activity is buys.

HOWEVER it could be that the institutional activity is selling, since Washington Post may still be selling stock. All I can guarantee is that there is some institutional action on the stock today.
