That was from 9/30/98. I would like to know if they still have all those shares

I understand. I got a "37M to 38M" Amzn institutional ownership updates(as of 2/99) from one of my research sites a few weeks ago but for whatever the reason I just cannot find it last night and today.

The short interest was 8M @3 = 24M during 9/98, it is now around 12/13M according to the lastest published report. So maybe the shorts have bought some of the Deutsche shares. Of course there is the Alger fund you mentioned yesterday regarding to their $200 sell and $95 buyback.

Wednesday is the quarter-end, so all those guys will try to help themselves if they can help it. I was hoping for more elephants in the pot, the buying elephants and the shorting elephants, the more the merit, for swings and volatility, and for the long duration.

BTW, I am sorta happy today, my so-called "dog" CPU is moving up more than one point finally!!
