QS, The server market will grow substantially over the next few years, but the vast majority of the growth will be < $100,0000 market. Think about it, a server that cost 1,000,000 will be bought for <100,0000 in a few years if the past in any indicator. The real problem as I see isn't just losing market share, but the pricing pressure.

Early versions of Linux were not scalable, but it is now. IBM announce supercomputer performace a few weeks back. It used a $49.00 version of Linux from Barnes & Noble on an IBM system to match performance of a multi-million $ supercomputer. I don't remember where I read that, but if anyone can find the article it might be worth reading.
