Cybersurf is based in Calgary, Alberta. They are a supplier of FREE Dial-Up ISP services. You must use their proprietary/customized Netscape browser to connect. The browser window runs ads whose sponsors pay for your FREE service.

Cybersurf has some major partners including the local CTV affilates in Calgary and Edmonton. They launched their service in Calgary in July last year and supposedly have in excess of 30,000 users. They are just in the process of launching the service in Edmonton. This launch is supposedly what prompted the recent run-up as there seems to be no other news. Anticipation is that they will be successful in obtaining contracts to run their service in Vancouver and Toronto in the near future, which should give them a subscriber base large enough to generate some serious ad revenue.
