The "vat of lye" story has been largely adjudicated as a "tub of lies". While perhaps Drygulch's raiment might 1)survive and 2) materially benefit from a hot alkali treatment - Rambi's feminine complexion and her skimpy if trendsetting couture would cringe even if gently swished thru Woolite. Oh, the dilemma. These items are too dear to burn - and too delicate to clean "wet". I understand her trusted contractor and Ethnic Cleansing Consultant, one How Duyu Doo, charged her triple when she brought her "drygulched" goodies in for a once-over.
