Mardy: My take of the AT&T - Lucent deal

My take is that it is a slap in the face, but Ericy didn't actually lose the contract. I read somewhere they (LU) were always expected to be the other main supplier (i.e. split 50/50, a general upgrade of the network would mean an investment of $2 Billion over 4 years, with LU getting $1Billion..who gets the rest?). I have not been able to confirm this, can anyone?
