Your comment on the "internet craze" is appropos. This company is perfectly positioned to benefit from broad changes in the medical waste industry, yet no one seems to care. SRCL is flush with cash, having just completed its 3.5 million share follow-on offering. Its two major competitors for acquisitions - Med Waste and Browning Ferris - both appear to be on the blocks and are thus no longer in the game. In fact, Allied Waste is likely to sell Browning Ferris's med waste business once their merger is completed. Stericycle is the most likely buyer.

Wall Street research on this company is poor - it is neither a medical company nor a typical waste company. Management executes its business well but does a lousy job with investor relations. As the company continues its acquisition binge, I suspect it could earn $2.00 per share by 2001. All in all, a great opportunity, but it's still a "nobody cares" stock. Once the size of their acquisitions grow and analysts start to raise estimates, however, people will care, and this illiquid stock will become very difficult to buy.
