Right, Allen, with your ever astute and objective reading of the legal scene, you're just the one to judge. Clinton's Supreme Court appointees all have had considerably more experience than Thomas had, of course, but qualifications was hardly the point there, was it? Thomas was the best man for the job! George Bush said so, and he wouldn't lie to the American people, would he?

OK, how about this? Milosevic and Hussein went to tea. They discussed dominence over their particular corners of the world. The obvious fly in any ointment they prescribed was the stubborn insistance of the USA on defending the weak in their stance for peace with justice in the world. What could they possibly do to thwart such an irresistable force?

Ping. The idea hits. If they could find one corrupt politician who would use the US military like any other dictator in the world, they could nullify this threat. So, they concluded to get some weakling like say, bill clinton, to waste billions of dollars, all the military weaponry and overextend the military forces. That along with his obvious havoc on the domestic front would demoralize the people of the USA. The USA loses all credibility in the world and allied countries who've supported the USA military build up would pull back as if on a bungie cord.
