Richard: First, a fundamental issue maybe you or the thread can throw some light on: There is action on new fabs. Specifically, wireless is driving to a big rampup for handset chips and basestation chips, and the DRAM mfrs. are ramping up for Rambus' RDRAM. The question is, How big an effect do these two areas have on the total equipment market (and on AMAT of course)? Corollary question: Are there other areas where rampup is occurring?

Second, on your technical read: In fact, hasn't AMAT been below their 50 day MA for a while? They seem to be challenging to climb above it once again. Isn't that bullish? And how would you answer Paul V's read of the same chart you're looking at?

I'd like to hear more on the technical side from both you and Paul.

Best,
JS
