chris, i haven't seen Barron's so i can't speak to the stealth tightening comments but I will say that many overlook the vast amount of credit created outside the banking system which will be hurt by the next credit crunch. I posted a note about this in earlie march or late Feb. I can't find it. if someone knows how to search look for a note with Securities Data Corporation on this thread by me about that time frame. It detailed significant annual declines in credit market security issuance. mike
