Yiwu:

INTC is going to phase out PII, and replace it with PIII. If INTC cannot low its PIII price by that time, AMD will take the slack.

YZ, It has been standard operating procedure for the Wintel Monopoly to make their previous generation products hard to get so the new one will be a "success." However, I think if the PII gets in short supply, business folks may well smarten up and move to a Celeron or an AMD chip. This may be the opportunity AMD needs to break into the business boxes. More likely, Intel will reduce the price to PII levels and folks won't care that they are buying more car than they need.
