I see it now.... the 333id. An extra $100 for the OS +. Sounds reasonable. Well worth the extra $100.

However, the Dell 15" sells for ~$200. That brings the cost
delta to about $200 between the machines. I know you can
get a 14" from eM for $100 but lets face it, the monitor
is a foolish thing to skimp on. Why would you get a DVD
and a lousy monitor? Not a good combo. 32X CDROM is preferable
to 5X DVD for computing and gaming.

But believe me, neither of these systems are business class.
Both are designed strictly for home use or very small (single
system) business use. If I were to buy for a small networked
environment (e.g. 5 systems) I'd definately spend a few extra
bucks and buy the Dell V (actually I'd get stripped down Optiplex's
for about the same price which are tested extensively in a networked
environment).

By the way, is the eMachines AMI bios plug-n-play? Their
motherboard looks hideous with lots of old technology including
dip switches. Usually, these dips are for configuring IRQ settings
when adding peripherals.... no fun even for the experienced
