Amazon's much heralded new auction site is up and running this AM auctions.amazon.com . A quick spin thru shows that in addition to person to person auctions AMZN is also offering auctions from several online etailers that have been designated 'charter merchants' to offer a stream of goods for the AMZN auctions site. Among new AMZN partners listed is online cataloger The Sportsmans Guide SGDE 5s- The Sportsman's Guide is a Catalog and Internet Company of value priced outdoor gear and general merchandise, with a special emphasis on outdoor clothing, equipment and footwear. In addition to its Internet presence located at sportsmansguide.com , the Company expects to distribute more than 80 million catalogs resulting in sales to over 1.2 million customers in 1999.
