Yeah, William! We'll expect a great deal more (of your excellent) insight from you now that you are a Speed Demon on the Internet. Seriously, you'll likely form some new opinions of certain technologies given your new "perspective". I expect to subscribe to @Home sometime within a year, and can't wait. Let us know how it goes...

Randy

Yes, and can you imagine using a 56k modem now? William, does this change your outlook regarding the future of Cable versus ADSL?

Mark, I got my ADSL service up today. Turns out there was a "branch" in
the circuit that ADSL can't tolerate, and they patched it.

Man is this fast! How fast I'm not sure yet, but well-above the 384kb
guarantee. I'm guessing closer to 1mb.<<

Excellent William; i'm happy for you. I can hardly wait to get my service going too...beautiful day in Amzn and Yhoo land!!!

I live in an area north of Seattle at the tip of Lake Washington. Seattle and surrounding communities are considered a hub for Internet activity. US West has been unable to provide me with the service, which was promised by the first of this year. They found that they need to revamp their antiquated local switching station. TCI/AT&T is working on providing digital cable access but that is probably 6 to 18 months off. Here I am in the middle of many high tech industries and I can't get more than 28.8 out of my 56k modems! I wish one of these outfits or would get their act together.

Congradulations!
