Thanks for the advice. I don't know... guess I'm just a slow learner.
My first short of AMZN was on 1-4-99 (the day BEFORE the 3-1 split)... results follow:

AMZN 300 1-5-99 107 32,112 300 1-4-99 117 7/8 35,351 3,239 1 10.09%
AMZN 300 1-5-99 109 1/4 32,787 300 1-4-99 114 3/16 34,244 1,457 1 4.44%
AMZN 300 1-5-99 109 1/4 32,787 300 1-4-99 114 2/3 34,388 1,601 1 4.88%
AMZN 300 1-5-99 108 32,412 300 1-4-99 116 2/3 34,988 2,576 1 7.95%

Sorry about the excel-paste format... long and the short of it: $8873 gain. Followed by many many more on the short side of AMZN.

Sure. I've been wrong before. Will be again. Don't think it'll be this time. See you in the AM.

>>Whoever wants to short AMZN, talk to some of the veteran shorters on this board, and you would know how badly you WILL be burned!<<
I respect your concern about the Amzn shorts. Please remember as Jan posted in the last few days that the shorts are almost gone.
You seem to confuse the short with the hedged. That's a different "Thing".
Trust me.
Ps
Did you notice that Wal-Mart the company, that Amzn is going to replace was up again today. That's up 67%. I'll tell you this! Will Wall -Mart be here in 10 years time? You bet.
Will Amzn? That's your guess.
I love Wal-Mart stock. So do my daughters. If you asked them. They'd reply "You'd have to trust my Dad on that".
