Just caught the tail end of an announcement today that WorldCom acquired major stakes in internet data carriers by buying bonds and convertible notes from Merrill Lynch and somebody else. It made me wonder again if the difficulty this stock has in appreciating is the concern over the potential of a very short lease on life. Has the company answered the concern of the short contract? I must admit I've not done much DD since condemning myself for buying after the hyped run-up.
