Elroy part of the new customers was with Newbridge Networks in Singapore as I understood it:

"KANATA, Ontario--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1999--NEWBRIDGE
(NASDAQ:NN) (TSE:NNC.) Newbridge Networks (NYSE:NN; TSE:NNC) today
announced it is working with Analog Devices (NYSE:ADI) and Aware,
Inc. (NASDAQ:AWRE)
to bring high-speed Internet access to consumers
in the Asia Pacific region. These companies have joined together with
SingTel Magix, Intel Corporation and Efficient Networks in an initial
deployment of DSL-Lite,
a consumer version of asymmetric digital
subscriber line (ADSL) technology that delivers high-speed voice and
data transmission over regular telephone lines. SingTel Magix is a
high-speed Internet access service provided by SingTel. It is also an
integral part of the Singapore ONE project -- an information
technologies initiative led by the government of Singapore.

The deployment is based on G.Lite DSL technology, the new
worldwide standard adopted by the International Telecommunications
Union (ITU) in late 1998. G.Lite offers a splitterless, cost-effective
solution for high-speed network access to the home, providing "always
on" connections and simultaneous voice and data transmissions.
"As an innovative multimedia service, SingTel Magix is eager to
deploy leading-edge technology that results in better service for our
customers," said Chan Kin Hung, Senior Director of Sales & Marketing,
SingTel Magix. "Our modems are already priced competitively with
dial-up modems and G.Lite further enhances customer convenience by
simplifying the installation process.''
SingTel Magix uses the Siemens / Newbridge MainStreetXpress(tm)
36170 Multiservices Switch, which includes the Analog Devices
AD20msp910 ADSL chip set. Co-developed with Aware,
the
standards-compliant chip set supports ADSL over integrated services
digital network (ISDN) features with asynchronous transfer mode (ATM)
interfacing capability for increased data rates. The MainStreetXpress
36170 Multiservices Switch, equipped with octal ATM/ADSL line cards,
is located at the central office while customer homes are equipped
with the Efficient Networks prototype G.Lite PCI ADSL modems.
"Aware was first to market with standards-compliant DSL
technology," said Roger Fung, Executive Vice President, Asia Pacific
Region, Newbridge Networks. "Newbridge and Aware are excited to be
working together with companies at the forefront of DSL deployment,
such as SingTel Magix, Intel, and Efficient Networks,
to provide a
cost-effective solution for high-speed broadband access."
"As the leading provider of core technology for DSL, we are
pleased to help lead the first DSL-Lite service deployments," added
Michael Tzannes, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aware, Inc.
"This deployment offers further evidence of the momentum that is
building around DSL-Lite, a technology that was standardized only a
few months ago."
The initial SingTel Magix deployment, which began in December
1998 with 20 participants, will now expand to 50 users. Data will be
collected based on the real-world infrastructure of these participants
and will consider many variables, such as age and condition of the
local loop, proximity to the central office, home wiring, equipment
configurations and types of telephone devices in the home.

Re: Earnings.

April 16 is the date they report I believe.

The estimate is for 2¢, if they hit 3¢ it will be seen as good...and 4¢ or more will be very good...IMO. The CC could be the real kicker this time around due to the activity with licensing and royalties that won't be reflected or reported until the following quarter.

Myself, I don't think this ones really started to fly yet, so for me it would be premature to render a guess on sequential growth. Analysts have said AWRE is prone to run ups...I tend to go with that train of thought since growth is tied to DSL rollouts.

Newbridge - Australian Capital Territory Electricity and Water Corporation Selects Newbridge Equipment for its TransAct Advanced Multiservice IP- VPN Network
KANATA, ONTARIO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 1999-- NEWBRIDGE(TSE:NNC. - news; NYSE:NN - news) Canberra-based Alternate Service Provider Delivers High Speed Internet, Digital Video and Multimedia Services Using Newbridge ATM Backbone and Carrier Switched Routing Solution

Newbridge Networks (NYSE: NN - news; TSE: NNC - news) today announced that the Australian Capital Territory Electricity and Water (ACTEW) Corporation will deploy the Siemens / Newbridge MainStreetXpress(tm) 36170 Multiservices Switch and the Newbridge(r) Carrier Switched Routing solution at the core of its network. The network delivers premium-quality Internet protocol (IP) virtual private networking (VPN) services to its customers.

Known as the TransAct project, the new network is being installed in Canberra and is serving as the test bed for the delivery of high bandwidth premium IP VPN services. It is expected that the ACTEW TransAct network will cover all of Canberra by the end of 2002.

''TransAct embarked on a comprehensive evaluation process involving the three leading networking equipment suppliers before selecting the Newbridge MainStreetXpress multiservice asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) platform as the backbone infrastructure for its broadband network,'' said Harri Jokinen, Project Architect for TransAct. ''The Newbridge products deliver carrier class performance and reliability in a solution that can easily scale to accommodate TransAct's current and long-term commercial plans for network expansion and new service offerings.''

End customers will access services, such as high speed Internet and video on demand, over the TransAct infrastructure through two Internet service providers (ISPs). By providing TransAct with a scalable, connection-oriented ''virtual'' router backplane that is built to match its scale, topology and functionality requirements, the Newbridge Carrier Switched Routing solution provides connectivity, bridging and routing services between the TransAct network and the ISPs.

''Our objective is to provide an open broadband network over which many service and content providers are able to deliver services to Canberra's residential population and establish TransAct as the number one wholesale bandwidth provider,'' said Mr. Jokinen. ''To do so, our service must be reliable, flexible and scalable. Newbridge equipment delivers the capacity, flexibility and reliability we need in a single integrated platform.''

The industry-leading MainStreetXpress 36170 Multiservices Switch comprises the TransAct network backbone, upon which ACTEW has deployed the Newbridge Carrier Switched Routing solution. Carrier Switched Routing is a key component of the Newbridge Versatile IP solutions portfolio that enables service providers to go beyond basic interconnect and transport services to offer customers a wide range of premium, ''business class'' services, such as advanced voice, video, data and high speed Internet services, over an ATM platform. The solution leverages all the relevant routing standards, such as Carrier Scale Internetworking (CSI) and Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), to deliver routing intelligence at switching performance and cost levels by using a connection-oriented backbone to replace the router backplane. This emulates the functionality of a conventional router or Layer 3 switch. The end solution functions as a single router and leverages the connection-oriented fabric to provide the predictability and quality of service (QoS) required to deliver mission critical IP-VPN services.

While most VPNs consist of best-effort bandwidth tunnels across the Internet, Newbridge Carrier Switched Routing delivers true virtual private routing services with security, predictability and reliability guarantees.

Advanced network and service management capabilities are provided by the MainStreetXpress 46020 Network Manager, enabling TransAct to focus on deploying new services while reducing the associated administrative burdens and costs. The Newbridge center-weighted service management model consolidates policy administration to a handful of policy servers in the network and distributes the intelligence to enforce these policies to the network edge.

It also incorporates the key attributes -- policy creation, rapid provisioning, troubleshooting, monitoring and user and application partitioning -- required to deliver revenue-generating services. Finally, the Newbridge model offers multivendor management capabilities to ensure service is extendable across third-party network devices.

''The Newbridge Carrier Switched Routing solution provides the flexibility and scalability of a centrally managed architecture to deliver premium-quality services across an ATM backbone,'' said Jim Arseneault, Executive Vice President, IP & Internetworking Products Group, Newbridge Networks. ''The Newbridge solution enables TransAct to attain much higher margins on its IP-VPN services, while drastically reducing the total cost of ownership associated with managing its network infrastructure.''
