I think we've found the perfect formula for a utopian stock market that always goes up, it works like this:

1. Buy into the Large Cap Index big 100 stocks
2. Fed adds liquid during the night (I am coining the phrase "night trickle theory")
3. Gap 'em up on the open on futures driven computer buy programs
4. Buy the SP's at the close for gap up at the close

Now we need to get the cash of the day traders and the people who are bored with the 25% guaranteed return of the SP Index 500, and who like at least a 1000% guaranteed no risk return, and this is done as follows:

Issue lots of Internet paper. If there's a dot com anywhere in their future, do an IPO. Unlimited market cap, no risk, since everybody knows that the Internet is the future. And what is lovely about an Internet stock is they don't need to make money.

In the new market a "correction" is any day that the Nasdaq is down at least 1 point. These corrections are very painful, and cause howls of pain and public consternation in the media, but only last for one day.
