Birinyi rode the elevator all the way to the cellar last August and September.

And hasn't he taken the ride back up to 10K???

Many missed the October run-up, something you complained about your TA guy causing you to miss at the time. Those who held, didn't.

You don't get it. Some have a long term view of the bigger picture, others are short term traders who are interested in tomorrow, next week, and next month. Others are looking toward 2002, 2003, etc.

Investors looking forward years with EMC don't care if it goes back to 110 or not, except maybe to add to their cores. Consequently, the noise from those who get "bored" regarding short term predictions. Two viewpoints talking two different languages. That's all I was trying to point out.

Re: As for traders v. investors, only a fool would knock the fundamentals of EMC.

Probably nobody would knock the fundamentals of the business, but I suspect a lot of otherwise intelligent people would knock the fundamentals of the stock -- specifically the P/E. I don't believe that such an honest difference of opinion would make them "fools".

(By the way I do own EMC -- despite the P/E.)
