It is possible that the MM's were "shaking the fleas" (no pun intended to the dogpound). If anyone does not know, this refers to when the MM's drop a stock real fast to try to scare shares from weak hands.

Ah yes, I do believe I've heard that one somewhere before. I never really quite understood what exactly the market maker has to gain by doing that. It would seem to me that stronger hands = less trading = less commissions.

Weak volume, a weak close, I wouldn't get too cocky just yet.
