"Having one's message on S.I. deleted is about the worst thing I can think of. And, fortunately, it's really nothing at all and only draws more attention to the flaky person causing the deletion. What does Anita think of censorship? :-}"

It's nothing unless no one is aware of it. I can't read Brentsky's post and I wouldn't have known he was silenced if he hadn't told us. Funny how JD censored 20% of the posts on his little thread.

Anita's dozing at the moment, but she'd probably say something like, people who favor censorship have persecution complexes, or have an inflated sense of self-importance and a need to control others. Or, she may just give utterance to that phrase Freud made immortal so long ago as he was fleeing from the Nazis, "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me except for the word 'banana'."
Personally, I just don't think they've hit puberty yet.
