I am not sure of the market cap difference, but I think you are starting to see Qwest pull away from LVLT. Qwest is confortable with revenues in the billions of dollars over the next two years, and by their own admition, LVLT is at least 1 1/2 years behind. I am sticking with Qwest and will consider rolling some profits into LVLT later after the water clears.

Jason:

LVLT's market cap is around $23 billion and QWST's is about $25.5B. I'm surprised by that because I sense that QWST is much further along in its deployment -- but perhaps this fits with the earlier discussion about LVLT being perceived as a more pure net play.

I can't imagine either of these swallowing the other -- I could see a WCOM ultimately looking fondly on all that bandwidth to leverage their UUNET and business network position. What a powerhouse!
